Nepal wins AOTS award (Kantipur Daily)
KATHMANDU, DEC 31 -
Amira Dali has been awarded for her contributions to social development at a Success Story Convention entitled, ‘Investing in People for a Better World’, which was organised at the United Nations University, U Thant International Conference Hall, in Tokyo, Japan on Oct. 27. The event was organised in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the AOTS, Japan.
“I was so happy to win the award and, at the same time, I am very aware that my position is one of responsibility,” said Dali.Dali is currently working with AOTS in Nepal and is also the President of the Love Green Nepal (LGN), a NGO working for the sustainable development of economically disadvantaged people in marginalised communities.
Dali’s Success Story was entitled- Integrated Development Endeavors for Social-Economic and Environmental Change in Nepalese Villages. The story centers on activities in the sectors of sustainable agriculture, community education, community infrastructure and health, and environment conservation.
