Japan provides Rs. 106.4m to fight food deficit (Kantipur News)
KATHMANDU, MAR 16 – Japan has approved a fund of Rs 106.4 million to Nepal for the implementation of a project to counter food shortage in remote hilly and mountain districts. The amount will be spent on the transportation of food grains to remote area where agricultural productivity is low.
According to the statement issued by Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu on Tuesday, under this project the Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) will deliver an additional 3,329 metric tons of rice to thirty remote hilly and mountain districts in addition to NFC’s annual programme of delivering about 11,096 metric tons of rice.
