Rs 370m Japanese assistance (Kantipur Daily)

KATHMANDU, APR 08 -
Japan has agreed to extend a grant assistance of Rs. 370 million to Nepal for procuring the items necessary to increase food production.
Japanese Ambassador Tatsuo Mizuno and Finance Secretary Rameshore Khanal signed an agreement to this effect amid a function here on Thursday.
Issuing a press release, the Embassy of Japan said, the grant will be used for procurement of fertilizers needed to boost agricultural production and meet growing food demand. The fertilizer procured under this grand will be utilized to cope with acute shortages and will be supplied to remote regions. It is said that Nepal does not have domestic manufactures of chemical fertilizer.
