Prayers in Bouddha in memory of Japan quake victims (kantipur Daily)

KATHMANDU, MAR 28 -

A special peace prayer and Buddha puja was organised in the Bouddhanath Stupa on Monday by Non-Resident Nepalis’ Association in memory of those killed in the deadly earthquake that triggered tsunami in Japan.

A team of Buddhist priests led by chief of Budhanilkhanta-based monastery Rimpoche Sagasafa Rimbo performed a peace prayer and observed silence for one minute wishing that the departed souls may rest in eternal peace.

On the occasion, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav lit a peace light at the stupa. He said the tsunami caused unimaginable loss in Japan and added that the Government of Nepal and Nepali people are with the Government of Japan and Japanese people at this hour of grief.

At the same programme, Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang said Nepal is saddened at the loss of lives and property by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Similarly, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Tatsuo MIZUNO lauded Nepali people’s support to Japan after the deadly earthquake struck the country.
NRN representatives, top level government officials, leaders of several political parties, representatives of Japanese organisations in Nepal and others were present at the programme. RSS
